Ber Carroll was born in Blarney, a small village in Ireland. The third child of six, reading was her favourite pastime (and still is!). Ber moved to Sydney in 1995 and spent her early career working in finance. Her work colleagues were speechless when she revealed that she had written a novel that was soon to be published. Ber now writes full time and is the author of eight novels, including Once Lost, Worlds Apart and Less Than Perfect. The Missing Pieces of Sophie McCarthy is her first book published under the name B M Carroll.
With all the humour and empathy of Binchy, Carroll captures the conflicts and compromises women make * Daily Telegraph, on Once Lost * A clever eye for characterisation and story -- Cathy Kelly * on Once Lost * A cast of warm, engaging characters in a sparkling story that crosses the globe between Ireland and Australia. I enjoyed every page of this touching, authentic novel -- Liane Moriarty * on Worlds Apart * Praise for B M Carroll * - * Very well written and suspenseful with characters to believe in; it was deeply psychological and I thoroughly enjoyed it -- Lisa Ballantyne An utterly compelling psychological suspense novel about ambition, revenge and family. The characters are complex and real, and I became so immersed in their worlds that I read the last two hundred pages in one sitting. With echoes of both Liane Moriarty and Charity Norman, I was fascinated by B.M. Carroll's dissection of two families pushed to breaking point. A completely gripping and emotional page-turner -- Lucy Clarke What starts as an intricate, multi-narrator domestic drama slowly reveals its secrets to become something much darker indeed * Heat, The Twisty One * Sucked me in from the first page. The characters were intriguing, the plot thrilling and the writing effortless. It has been a long time since a book engaged me like this. I will be telling everyone I know to read this book -- Sally Hepworth Such an intriguing, compelling novel. Impossible to put down and irresistibly good -- Liane Moriarty
