Whether it be patience, responsibility, or empathy, it is recommended by the book to give each monster a certain type of treatment to make sure you don't hurt their feelings.

By making the monsters seem almost human with their various flaws and sensitivity it makes them less scary and more interesting to kids. Sean Dougherty is an undergraduate student at Emerson College in Boston aiming to receive a Bachelor's Degree in publishing in the Spring of 2023. He has dedicated his time in college to learning about the industry from both ends, as an author and a publisher. Taking a class on the history of horror and monsters in popular media over the years brought back his memories of the nights he spent picturing his own monsters, and inspired him to start a small passion project that grew into his first full manuscript.
