Ripley Chanton has written the kind of anxiety guide I wish I'd found years ago. Instead of heavy theory or vague ""stay positive"" advice, this book offers practical, compassionate tools you can actually use in daily life. The grounding techniques and 10-minute reset are simple yet surprisingly effective, and I love the ""Worry Dump"" journal exercise for bedtime. The blend of science, relatable stories, and scripts for talking with loved ones makes it feel both human and trustworthy. Most importantly, it doesn't shame you for struggling-it meets you where you are. A kind, empowering resource for anyone living with anxiety. I struggle with anxiety for long time. My head always full of racing thoughts, and sometimes I feel I cannot breathe. Many books before only tell me ""think positive"" but that never help me. This book is different. It speak gentle, like a friend, and give small tools I can actually use in daily life. I like the grounding exercises and the bedtime ""worry dump."" Easy, simple, but they really calm me. Also the stories from other people make me feel I am not broken, not alone. My English is not perfect, but I read this book easy. I feel more peace after, and hope that I can keep practicing these steps. Very thankful for this book. I've struggled with anxiety for years and tried everything from apps, therapy and books that just said to think positive. This book gives you actual techniques you can use when panic hits and the seven grounding techniques stopped a panic attack just the other day. The 10 minute reset works before stressful meetings and the anxiety spiral map helped me identify triggers and break patterns before they escalated. Scripts improved communication with my partner and the relapse playbook kept me from spiraling during bad weeks. Whilst my anxiety hasn't disappeared, I do finally have practical ways to manage it. I loved all the little lists, exercises, and examples per section. It really made me feel like this is actually doable. Having struggled with anxiety attacks for a few years, this is so practically helpful. Dropped one star because the table of contents is very busy and screams robot-written, plus there are some references within the text like ""see APA list 23."" This presumably refers to the references but they are not numbered nor linked in the Kindle version via the usual footnotes, bit confusing and seems to indicate an editorial miss. But yes I'm nitpicking, this book is well worth the read regardless! This book has been a comforting and practical resource for managing my anxiety daily. The grounding techniques and calm-down rituals are simple to use and really effective in moments of overwhelm. I especially appreciated the relatable stories and the clear science that helped me understand what's happening in my brain without feeling overwhelmed. The customizable tools like the worry journal and coping toolbox give me ways to personalize my anxiety management. This book is a gentle, honest guide that helps me feel more in control and hopeful about facing each day.
