It's a drizzly, damp, dull Sunday. Nothing to do or see. I'm feeling BORED. I need someone To come and play with me.

And that's just the first of many feelings a young boy experiences on this day. From being GLAD about his friends eventually coming over to play, to getting MAD when little sister Kate gets in the way, our main character feels a whole spectrum of emotions over the course of one day!

Reviews for Sad, Mad, Glad: A Day Full of Feelings

""Micklos’s gentle text moves to a conclusion that sees the protagonist going to bed feeling “LOVED!” Jimenez’s artwork balances simplicity and detail, with colors that are bright yet soothing… Sweetly affirming.""—Kirkus Reviews ""Fun, vibrant colors create a joyful atmosphere as the boy and his diverse group of friends play together, while the changes made to facial expressions convey the feelings as they occur. Rhyming text describes friends, emotions, and their activities, with large colorful words in all caps sharing which emotion is in play. The story illustrates the very real way emotions, especially for young children, can come and go in the everyday moments of our lives, and show how a loving mother can help the children work through those emotions. VERDICT A good addition to picture book collections, and a solid choice for discussing emotions with young readers.""—School Library Journal
