A complete textbook and reference book that summarises the main aspects of wood utilisation for the student and the timber producer. The book concentrates on native species, although common non indigenous woods are also covered.

The first edition of Wood in Australia received the National Book Award of the Building Science Forum of Australia in 1985. This second edition was prepared as a collaboration between Forests NSW, the Timber Development Association of NSW and the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation. Through their guidance this book has been updated so that it remains the industry's premier text.
