I am happily married to the most amazing woman, Lina Martinez Hortensia Laredo. We have five adult children between us, and four grandchildren. I am university-educated, but my value system and world views come from life's experiences. I have become a mentor, life coach, tutor, speaker, teacher and facilitator for addictions and other life problems. This I have done and am doing through Alcoholics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, Rotary, music, the Church and other speaking engagements. I have been invited to other countries to teach teachers how to best teach English. Travels to Asia, Central America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East have further encouraged me to work hard for my family, local community, and the worldwide community. I support everything my wife does, and have taken a UN course on the human rights of Indigenous peoples to support her involvement with the Permanent Forum on Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples. She is vice president of the Garifuna Nation, a virtual nation in the UN which UNESCO applauds as a cultural gift to humanity.
