Dr. S. M. René, The EDC Doc, (TM) is an experienced board-certified endocrinologist who has been practicing for the past twenty-five years. Dr. René earned a medical degree at Howard University in Washington, DC. Internship and residency in internal medicine were completed at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, followed by fellowship training in endocrinology and metabolism at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. René was awarded the prestigious honor of Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology for achievements in the field of endocrinology. Dr. René has done numerous regional speaking engagements for various pharmaceutical companies addressing topics relating to hypothyroidism, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Medical expertise includes performing thyroid biopsies, PCOS, thyroid cancer, and general endocrine disorders.
