AbstractEnvironmental problems began to be discussed with more interest around the 1970s, and have been gaining ground with the development of technologies and the growing human need to occupy and exploit areas sensitive to erosion, Mozambique has been creating instruments and standards that regulate some activities especially in areas sensitive to environmental problems, This is in line with various initiatives such as the decisions taken at the Intergovernmental Conference held in Tsibilisi (USA) in 1977, which initiated a global process of Environmental Education, with a view to creating conditions that reorient the production of knowledge based on interdisciplinary methods and the principles of complexity. The study area is the coastal part of the island of Ka-Nyaka, and as you can imagine, the island is exposed to extreme winds, cyclones, the effects of climate change and their consequences. As a result of these phenomena, the research area is struggling with environmental problems linked to erosion along its coastline, so the role of the community in erosion management can have a positive effect on combating soil erosion.
