Alex Viada began his career in clinical research and healthcare consulting but has been a coach, educator, and author in the fitness industry for over 20 years. He has worked with over a thousand athletes ranging from all-time world-record-holding powerlifters to ultramarathoners, and has helped countless individuals prepare for first responder careers and military selection. He coined the term Hybrid Athlete to describe athletes who strive to develop elite performance in both strength and endurance and has spent his career perfecting this style of training. He himself has competed in Ironman triathlons and powerlifting and has deadlifted 700 pounds the same week as running an ultramarathon.
