J. Krishnamurti (1895-1986) devoted his life to counselling and teaching. For more than half a century he was a public figure, travelling continuously around the world to share a message that has been heard and read assiduously by countless people of all ages. He wanted his teachings compared to no other doctrine or faith. By encouraging others to challenge the self-deceptions of our age, his aim was to take man beyond the limitations of the self.
To listen to him or to read his thoughts is to face oneself and the world with an astonishing morning freshness. --Anne Morrow Lindbergh
