The original and bestselling leadership book!

Sun Tzu's ideas on survival and success have been read across the world for centuries. Today they can still be applied to business, politics and life. The Art of War demonstrates how to win without conflict. It shows that with enough intelligence and planning, it is possible to conquer with a minimum of force and little destruction.

While most of us will never find ourselves in real battle situations, we all need strategies to operate effectively in work, love and life, we need to be able to manage conflict, and we need to be skilled at dealing with people. The Art of War is a time-tested resource for 'victory' in each of these areas, and has been proven over time.

This luxury hardback edition includes an introduction by Tom Butler-Bowdon that draws out lessons for managers and business leaders, and highlights the power of Sun Tzu's thinking in everyday life.

Foreword vii An Introduction by Tom Butler-Bowdon xi Part I 1 The Art of War 3 Part II 101 The Sayings of WU TZU 103

Sun Tzu lived 2,500 years ago, in Northern China. He is believed to have been a brilliant military strategist in the warring states period, and his famous book The Art of War recorded his ideas on military tactics and winning battles. While little is known about the man himself, his work continues to influence both Asian and Western culture and politics. Tom Butler-Bowdon is the author of five bestselling books on classic self-help and motivational writing. He has been described by USA Today as 'a true scholar of this type of literature.' His first book, 50 Self-Help Classics, won the 2004 Benjamin Franklin award.
