Children's book author and indie publisher Darcy Pattison writes award-winning fiction and non-fiction books for children. Her works have received starred PW, Kirkus, and BCCB reviews. Awards include the Irma Black Honor award, five NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Books, two Eureka! Nonfiction Honor book, two Junior Library Guild selections, two NCTE Notable Children's Book in Language Arts, a Notable Social Studies Trade Books, and an Arkansiana Award. She's the 2007 recipient of the Arkansas Governor's Arts Award for Individual Artist for her work in children's literature. Terry Kole illustrates children's books and puzzles from her studio on the shores of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. George Washington's Engineer was named a 2023 Best STEM Book by the NSTA. Her career started with a weekly cartoon strip and daily illustrator for the Detroit News. She illustrated college level books and created infographics for the Associated Press while in NYC, Paris and Amsterdam. In Vienna she taught cartooning to students at the American International School. She currently teaches art to ages 10-80 through various art centers in New England. Jeremy Doss is a composer and music educator living in NW Arkansas. Jeremy served as a high school band director for ten years. He transitioned to a position as an elementary music teacher to spend more time with family and to compose. Jeremy holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education and Master's in Music Composition from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR as well as an Advanced Certificate in Film Scoring from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA Extension). He is Orff Level 1 certified. His compositions are published by Grand Mesa Music and TRN Music Publisher. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter, bowling, cheering on Arkansas Razorback sports, writing songs, and composing music for school band programs.
