The book deals with the geology of the Itabira Municipal Park, located in the southern part of the state of Espírito Santo. In the central part of the park is Pico do Itabira, which is an imposing body of rock that stands out in the region's relief and is a postcard and symbol of the city. It has cultural and sporting importance and is popular with climbers and people who want to go hiking. Petrographic analysis made it possible to correlate the granitoids found with the G1 Supersuite, associated with the Precollisional stage of evolution of the Araçuaí Orogen, during the Brazilian period. By studying the lineaments and fractures, it was possible to assume that these structures are mainly responsible for the current geometry of Pico do Itabira.
