Dr. Santhiyagu Joseph Vijay is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences. He completed his graduate study in the field of CAD/CAM. He is a Doctorate in the field of Materials and Manufacturing. He was also a Post-doctoral fellow in Jeonju University, South Korea during 2016-17. He has carried out research in developing metal matrix composites through various manufacturing techniques. He is also into synthesizing of nano-materials for electromagnetic shielding applications. To his credit he has published over 50 journal paper in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of friction stir welding, composites, nano-materials and additive manufacturing. He has also published 4 patents on composites and additive manufacturing. He is currently carrying out 4 major funded projects worth USD 250,000 and developing multi-material structural panel for defense sector and a novel manufacturing technology for aeronautical sector. Dr. Brusly Solomon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS), Coimbatore. He joined as Research Associate in the Dean Research office of the KITS in the year 2006. His research focuses on the development of phase change cooling devices such as heat pipes and thermosyphons and vapor chambers with nanofluids and various wick materials. He pursued his Post-doctoral research in the Thermo fluids Research Laboratory of Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Pretoria. He is recipient of Govt. of India, Young Scientist Award 2015 by Science and Engineering Research board, Young Achievers Award 2015 by Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, UP postdoctoral fellowship 2015 by University of Pretoria. His research interests include Phase change heat transfer, electronic cooling with heat pipes, natural convection heat transfer and Magnetic nanofluids. Currently, he is reviewer of many technical journals from Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, Tailor and Francis and many other Publications. Professor Josua Meyer is a member or fellow of various professional institutes and societies such as ASME, ASHRAE, AIAA, and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He is registered as a professional engineer by the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is leading the Clean Energy Research unit that he established with a broad focus on thermal sciences and fluid flow, but with a narrower focus on heat exchangers. His heat exchanger work focused on fundamental work of flow in the transitional flow regime, mixed convection, nanofluids, boiling, and condensation. On an applications level his work focuses on thermal-solar-, wind- and nuclear energy. He has received 11 different national teaching awards from three different universities, as well as an international award, in 2013, for “Best professor in mechanical and aeronautical engineering”. He has won more than 45 research awards including 25 awards for best article of the year or best conference paper. His is a “highly cited researcher” according to the ISI, and ranked among the top 0.1% in engineering. He is on the editorial board of 13 journals and is editor of 7 journals in his field of research.
