Pedro Mairal nacio en Buenos Aires en 1970. Su novela Una noche con Sabrina Love recibio el Premio Clarin en 1998 y fue llevada al cine. Ha publicado tambien las novelas El ano del desierto (2005) y Salvatierra(2008), el volumen de cuentos Hoy temprano (2001), y los libros de poesia Tigre como los pajaros (1996), Consumidor final (2003) y la trilogia Pornosonetos (2003, 2005 y 2008). En 2007 fue nombrado uno de los 39 mejores jovenes escritores latinoamericanos por el Hay Festival de Bogota. Trabaja como guionista y escribe para distintos medios de comunicacion. En 2013 publico El gran surubi, una novela en sonetos, y El equilibrio, una recopilacion de las columnas que escribio durante cinco anos para el diario Perfil. En 2015 publico en Chile Maniobras de evasion, un libro de cronicas. Su ultima novela, La uruguaya, ha recibido en Espana el Premio Tigre Juan 2017 y lo ha confirmado como uno de los mas destacados autores argentinos de su generacion.
