The book is about John Hunyadi, a Hungarian warlord of Wallachian origin, and his campaigns against the Ottomans.

The book aims to present the life and military exploits of one of the biggest commanders in European medieval history. The chapters will present his life, the realities of Hungarian and Transylvanian politics, relations with the Ottomans and other states, military strategy and tactics in the battles against the Turk – the defensive battles of 1442, The Long Campaign 1443-44, Varna 1444, Kosovo 1448, Belgrade 1456 and other smaller battles. There will be a presentation of the structure of Hungarian and Transylvanian armies and the tactics they used.

AUTHOR: Andrei Pogacias studied History and International Relations at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj (Romania), works as a freelancer military historian, editor at Humanitas publishing house and translator, and has published mainly on Eastern European military history, from ancient times to the First World War. He has a PhD on the Austrian-Russian-Ottoman Wars of the 18th century and the armies of the Romanian Principalities in that period, and has contributed to various military history magazines in his country and abroad, both scientific and for larger audiences. He is also involved in reenactment on various periods.
