No single instructional method can meet all of the student learning needs expressed in the SHAPE America National Standards for Physical Education. It helps readers incorporate research-based practices in their lessons, adapt activities, and teach to standards. Michael Metzler is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University, USA, where he was the coordinator of the Health and Physical Education graduate program. He is a Fellow Emeritus in the National Academy of Kinesiology and the 2020 winner of the Luther Halsey Gulick Award from SHAPE America.
