IFS-Informed EMDR makes the case that the integration of these two influential therapy models creates something greater than the sum of its parts. It’s a book that can be used as a resource for therapeutic educational and training programs and as a supplement for people already familiar with at least one of these models.

Each chapter offers wisdom and practical guidance that will benefit anyone interested in learning the theoretical framework and practical applications of uniting EMDR and IFS for trauma healing.

Reviews for IFS-Informed EMDR: Creative and Collaborative Approaches

“I’m excited by this book because the way the many authors combine EMDR with IFS addresses [my concerns about EMDR being a protocol rather than a therapy] nicely and suggests ways that the combination can benefit IFS therapists as well—e.g., when they get stuck or want to access more Self.” Richard Schwartz, PhD, founder of the Internal Family Systems model, and author of No Bad Parts “Several years ago, Richard Schwartz and Francine Shapiro each gave us paradigm-shifting approaches for helping people with desperate and complicated sources of dysfunction and unhappiness. This book shows clearly how these two powerful approaches are not only highly compatible, but in fact, can each add depth to the effectiveness of the other. I recommend it both for the new and experienced EMDR or IFS therapist.” Jim Knipe, PhD, author of EMDR Toolbox: Theory and Treatment of Complex PTSD and Dissociation “An innovative and integrative guide for any EMDR therapist seeking to incorporate IFS therapy into the eight phases of treatment. Featuring insights from an array of talented thought leaders, this book is packed with practical interventions and invaluable knowledge. A must-read for clinicians looking to deepen their practice.” Rebecca Kase, LCSW, RYT, author of Polyvagal-Informed EMDR: A Neuro-Informed Approach to Healing
