Merv Lamington is an Australian author, although you wouldn't know it from his name. He was born in Nuriootpa in the Year of the Cake and raised to respect the sausage roll. His work is inspired by a lifetime of bad Easter experiences, terrible Christmas letdowns and general birthday disappointments. Makoto Koji is a Japanese illustrator and animator, born in Hiroshima in the Year of the Rabbit and raised in the wilderness of rural Queensland. Her work draws from a unique upbringing of both Eastern and Western sensibilities and she finds inspiration in fairytales, animals and all things sweet. Makoto has a Bachelor of Animation from Griffith University, and now works on many exciting projects for some of Australia's leading animation studios as well as producing illustrations for books, children's toys and editorial.
