David Drebin, born in Toronto in 1970, is an internationally recognised photographer who lives in New York. After studying at the renowned Parsons School of Design, Drebin became an internationally successful photographer who has taken portraits of important personalities from the worlds of art, film, sport and show business. Since then, he has earned a first-class reputation as a master of visual language. Drebin's work is characterised by a special combination of voyeuristic and psychological perspectives. His photos are epic and dramatic, with a cinematographic aesthetic in which femmes fatales act against impressive city backdrops. Themes such as sex, melancholy, but also humour find their place in his pictures and lend them an unmistakable depth.
""The Big Apple up close David Drebin's elaborately staged New York photos can fetch five-figure sums; this coffee-table book brings together 50 of them.""-- ""National Geographic Traveler""
