Dr. Aruna Pal is Assistant Professor at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUASFSCI). She obtained her MVSc at the National Dairy Research Institute, India, and her PhD in Animal Genetics and Breeding at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute. She has acted as Convenor for the Human Genetics and Genomics Task Force for India’s Ministry of Science and Technology and currently heads the Animal Genomics lab for WBUASFSCI’s Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding. Her research focuses on mitochondrial genetics and diseases using animal models. She has authored multiple books, including Elsevier’s Genetics and Breeding for Disease Resistance of Livestock. Dr. Atish Kumar Chakravarty former head of the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding at the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (Deemed University) in Haryana, India.
