Gastroenterology is a part of medicinal studies which deals with the disorders related to the digestive system. It studies all diseases related to mouth till anus, usually referred to as gastrointestinal tract. Hepatology is a study of liver, pancreas and biliary tree and is generally considered a sub-field of gastroenterology.
