This book deals with energy supply scenarios as a basis for political decision-making in the implementation of the energy transition in Germany. The aim is to contribute to the standardisation of the methodology used to create such scenarios and to provide information on their significance. To achieve this goal, after clarifying fundamental technical and political framework conditions, working hypotheses were first developed and discussed on the basis of critical voices and previously established principles in order to enable an early focus on essential areas and to derive initial evaluation criteria. Individual working hypotheses were then validated by reflecting on past developments. Based on the criteria derived in this way, an evaluative comparison of individual methodological approaches was carried out using sample studies.
