Lisa Fontanella loves writing and rocks. A wannabe rockhound, Lisa has spent many years learning about rocks, their properties, and feeling their energy. What better way to blend two of her passions - write a children's book about rocks! In addition to her You Rock! Series of young reader chapter books and companion My Thoughts for Today: Guided Journal and Coloring Book, she has written magazine and newspaper articles, newsletters, and promotional materials. Lisa is a Reiki master (27 years and counting!), holistic practitioner and certified Life Coach. Lisa lives in Virginia and enjoys being near the water whether it be the ocean, river, lake, pond, or puddle.

The samples really helped make the story and lessons tangible. The way the story blends emotional/developmental challenges/adventures that any child can relate to with the healing powers of the rocks and the geological facts of the rocks was so refreshing and appealing to my daughter. Even at 11, children learn best through story and adventure, not lists of facts and not scientific writing. The fact that she also has beagle made it all the more appealing.
