Joshua Seth Houston holds a PhD in biblical studies from Faulkner University, where he teaches in the V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies and the Kearley Graduate School of Theology. He also serves as Professor of Christian Doctrine at McGarvey College of the Bible. He is the author of Shedding Egypt, Becoming Israel (2025) and several peer-reviewed journal articles.
""Dr. Houston guides the reader through the various theologies, doctrines, and practices of the Catholic and Protestant divide in search for the church of the New Testament. Given the biases and preconceptions that will inevitably be brought to the book, his conclusions will not be accepted by every reader, but all should carefully read and consider what he has to say about this important issue. Discussions of eternally significant matters should always cause us to thoughtfully evaluate where we stand, and this book engages in such a conversation."" --Nathan Ward, Professor of Biblical Studies, Florida College ""Church Choices is an accessible and charitable introduction to important distinctions between some very popular religious groups. Houston attempts to present beliefs fairly while also questioning how they align with Scripture. It is a welcome text to encourage believers to interrogate where they stand."" --Todd M. Brenneman, Dean, V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies/Kearley Graduate School of Theology, Faulkner University, Alabama
