Gary T. Deimling, PhD, is a gerontologist and psycho-social oncologist who has conducted NIH funded research and taught for over 45 years. Over those years he has published over 80 research articles and book chapters focusing on health in later life. He is now Professor Emeritus at Case Western Reserve University where he continues to conduct and publish research at the Cancer Survivor>'s Research Program that he founded in 1996 and continues to direct. The continuing focus of his work is on the intersection of age and aging with the long-term effects of cancer and its treatment. He is especially interested in racial and gender differences in these intersections.
