Asst. Prof. Dr. Hürcan Tarhan is a lecturer and researcher at Altınbaş Cyprus University, where he currently serves as the Vice-Director of the Institute of Graduate Studies. Building on his previous leadership experience as Vice-Dean at his former institution, Dr. Tarhan continues to balance high-level academic administration with his dedicated research pursuits. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (HRM) from Bahçeşehir University and brings over 20 years of extensive experience from the Ministry of National Education. His previous research mainly focuses on the intersections of Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, and Leadership. A prolific academic, he has supervised eight graduate dissertations and serves as Field Editor for the International Innovative Education Researcher journal. Additionally, he has been a member of the Social Psychology Network since 2020. He also holds professional certifications from prestigious institutions, including Stanford University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Michigan (Ross School of Business), London Business School, University of London, Wesleyan University, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Edinburgh, University of Toronto, and University of Cape Town. He is the Vice-President of the Innovative Educators Association and a certified International Archery Judge (World Archery Europe), reflecting a diverse commitment to leadership and international standards. Furthermore, he contributes his expertise to various EU projects as a trainer of trainers in Digital Storytelling and Photovoice workshops, and other subjects related to his experience. Duygu Özalp earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Labor Economics and Industrial Relations from Anadolu University, including a nine-month Erasmus exchange at Uniwersytet Jagielloński in Kraków. She completed her integrated PhD at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations in 2020 with a dissertation on technological transformation and labor qualification in Türkiye’s aerospace industry, later published as Turkish Aerospace Industry: Training Qualified Technical Labor Force with the Ecosystem Understanding (2021). Dr. Özalp was an Assistant Professor at Başkent University Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Sociology and instructed courses on research methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels from 2021 to 2025. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Özalp fulfilled several academic-administrative roles, including Deputy Head of Department, Internship Coordinator, and Quality and Accreditation Coordinator. Her scholarly contributions include chapters in edited volumes, addressing topics such as modern slavery and the sociopolitical consequences of the 2023 Earthquakes. Furthermore, she has presented over fifteen papers at national and international conferences. In 2023, she was a member of the organizing committee for the Başkent University International Sociology Conference (BUSOC2023), a forum for academics and researchers to discuss contemporary sociological issues. Since October 2025 she continues to research in the fields of sociology of management and work, industrial sociology and sociology of technology and innovation. She specifically concentrates on the science-technology-innovation (STI) ecosystem, the societal background of technological achievements and/or movements, and interactions between economic and social policy . In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. Özalp is affiliated with the European Sociological Association (ESA), the Turkish Sociological Association, and the Informatics Association of Türkiye (IAT). She represents IAT in various working groups, such as Higher Education Quality Label Working Group, within the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS). Furthermore, she contributes columns to Bilişim Magazine.
