The race emcee sounded the starting horn. We were off . . .

Amidst the excitement of qualifying and training for the Boston Marathon, Erin couldn't help but realize that something was missing in her quest for more miles and personal bests. An admitted perfectionist and over-achiever, she had a constant drive to keep up a good front and please everyone around her-all the while forgetting what mattered most.

But in an instant, her world changed.

In Before Boston, Erin Webb takes us through her journey of recovering from what could have taken her life, to the Boston finish line and beyond. As she takes you through her difficult path of recovery, her journey becomes a different kind of race-one to discover her true meaning and purpose in this life and to lead others to do the same.

Reviews for Before Boston: More Than a Marathon: A Story of Rediscovering What Truly Matters

""The starting horn went off on page one of the Boston Marathon qualifier and I was hooked. But this wasn't just any race. Erin Webb takes us beyond the finish line of the marathon to the true finish line for which she and all of us have been created. To realize our true purpose, and to run with her this earthly race until God calls us heavenward."" -Kristi Wilkinson, Physical Therapist and Author, The Child Who Listens and The Surrogate Decision""This is an excellent short story for anyone interested in reading or listening to a personal struggle with life, death, and wrestling with God. Erin, in short order, was able to teach us the difference in the trials put before us by God. She has proven the real blessing is in the journey. Congrats on your victory!"" -Coach Scott Fangman, U of I Former Track Coach""Erin's story calls attention to the incredible resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Ultimately, her book highlights that life is more than just attaining a goal or completing a race. It focuses on the significance of the experiences we encounter and overcome while pursuing meaningful objectives. The lessons and growth we gain during this journey are just as important-if not more-than the end goal. -Nicholas Perkins, Board Certified Catholic Chaplain, MDiv, BCC
