Dr. Shantaram Kane is a distinguished chemical engineer, with a BTech from IIT Bombay and an MS and ScD from MIT, USA, and decades of industrial research experience, which he left to pursue his inquiry into the material science of ancient healing systems. He holds several patents, has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and served as visiting faculty and Senate member at IIT Bombay, which honoured him with its Distinguished Alumnus Award. Ayurveda Revisited brings together his journey of experiments, discoveries, applications, and insights, offering both a record of innovation and an invitation to explore preventive health, self-care, and healing with fresh eyes. It is part of the World Wisdom Series of the IIT Alumni Council. Dr. Kane was conferred as a Distinguished Fellow of the IIT Alumni Council and felicitated as Vishwaguru, its highest honour, for his contributions to universal and affordable healthcare options.
