A profound amalgamation of Pilates' past, present, and future. It introduces the reader to the value of research, gives an overview of what is available today, and stresses the importance of continued discovery. It also highlights the often undervalued importance of gait, and the wealth of information that can be gleaned from observing this most simple and yet intricate of movement patterns. This is a book that will inspire the most seasoned of professionals to reassess and reevaluate their teaching. Elizabeth Larkam and Madeline Black bring to the fore their vast experience, knowledge, and creativity. They put on full display the reason they are leaders in our field.--Rael Isacowitz, MA, BASI Pilates, Founder & Director
