Metabolic syndrome, characterized by a cluster of interconnected risk factors including obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, has been linked to an increased risk of developing asthma. Lifestyle factors such as physical inactivity and poor diet, commonly associated with metabolic syndrome, may contribute to asthma development. Shared genetic factors and epigenetic changes could also contribute to the observed association between the two conditions.

Understanding these intricate mechanisms is crucial for developing targeted interventions to mitigate the risk of asthma in individuals with metabolic syndrome and improve their overall respiratory health.
