Thomas Nygren is a professor of history and civics education at Uppsala University, Sweden, and a former schoolteacher with over fifteen years of experience. His research spans AI in education, critical thinking, digital literacy, and human rights, and he has received awards for his work on supporting digital literacy and his teaching skills.
'Here Nygren provides a wealth of illuminating, clarifying, and often research-based examples of strategies, methods, and practical exercises for teaching, and he carefully emphasizes both the advantages and disadvantages of AI use. There are also illustrative examples of generative AI, such as Chat GPT, and the opportunities and risks it can present for both teacher and student. Nygren is consistently very realistic, detailed and clear, and the many educational examples are described clearly, which makes the book excellent as an easily accessible source of inspiration and educational archive in all AI contexts in the school context.'
