Doug Allen CD, SEP, MSW, is a 20-year combat veteran who has dedicated almost as long to researching and specializing in the nervous system as a trauma therapist. He has developed the Allodynamic Model of repair and is the creator of Nervous System Recalibration(c), an in-the-moment action technique used to not 'ground' or regulate' but recalibrate one's nervous system to operate more appropriately for the current environment. Doug's work challenges the mainstream preventative and awareness models of mental health and instead offers a preparation and action model. This enables high stress occupations such as military or first responders to function well in operations while also being able to take the uniform off at home and be mom or dad, sister or brother. Doug's work focuses on the biomechanics of the human organism, which means his work is applicable to anyone who has a nervous system. His expertise in cultural competence working with military and first responders has been sought out from as far away as Australia. Doug is the perfect blend of operational experience with clinical competency, which is often claimed, but rarely attained in the mental health industry.
