Keith Baldwin's journey in technology began in the early 1970s, building transistor circuits and programming with manual punch cards. By the late 1970s, he was integrating computer systems and exploring programming, automation, computer vision, and robotics at the University of Florida. There, as an undergraduate, he created and taught college labs that applied computer and automation technologies to business processes. During his Master's and PhD studies at North Carolina State University, Keith developed a passion for object-oriented programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing. He also deepened his understanding of statistics and operations research, fields that underpin today's AI advancements.Throughout his career, Keith has run successful manufacturing and laboratory automation businesses and became Microsoft Certified in all things .NET in 2008. He has designed and developed systems across various industries, always emphasizing a structured approach from design to production while collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders. Today, Keith designs AI and ML systems from his rural workshop, where he also enjoys woodworking, outdoor activities, and rescuing urban trees to saw into lumber. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge, from the foundational days of computing to the transformative possibilities of AI, and is excited to help others harness technology effectively.
