This book examines the relationship between competitive strategies and the use of temporary employees. An organization's choice of strategy is predicted to impact its decision to use temporary workers. The study shows that firms differ in their competitive strategies and their respective use of temporary employment, which in turn impacts organizational performance. The way in which temporary employment use and firm strategy interact to affect organizational performance depends on the manner in which performance is measured.
