"Angela Davis is Louisiana native who began writing poetry at the age of ten. While attending Clark University, she wrote and published her first children's book, ""Prinsetta"". After graduating from college in 2006 she began her career as an English teacher in Brooklyn, NY. For many years Ms. Davis taught English and special education in middle school and high school. In 2023 Davis resigned from her role as a public school teacher and began teaching ESL classes for adults. This is her fourth children's book. Gabriela Collado Rodriguez was born in Brooklyn, New York. She is a native Spanish speaker of Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. She and Angela Davis met in 2008, when she was a student in Ms. Davis's 7th grade English class. Since then Rodriguez graduated from Boricua College, and she lives in Brooklyn where she works as an educator for children with special needs. This is her second contribution to a children's book."
