Reviews for Olivia Wolf and the Trip Through Time

Readers interested in ancient Egypt will appreciate a brief glimpse of Mario’s pyramid home back in Monstrocity as well as the dramatic antics of the ancient gods the kids meet on their trip back in time. Friendship and innovative thinking win the day in this dynamic tale. (Graphic fiction. 7-9) - Kirkus. Fragoso's playful, monster-inspired series is filled with interesting characters, big laughs, and bright, bold artwork, which amplify the high-energy story. Elementary-school fans of monster stories will be delighted – Booklist. What a strange, funny, and informative graphic novel! If you have a kid who enjoys interesting characters while learning something new (in this case, Ancient Egypt), then this is a great book for you! Overall a fun, quick, and enjoyable read! – NetGalley-Reviewer. Author/illustrator José Fragoso has woven a fun story with the additions of puzzles and fun facts about Ancient Egypt. – NetGalley-Educator. This was a colorful and engaging adventure with a little bit of history and science woven into the story. The book is very fast-paced, taking children on this surprising journey (and back, phew) with Olivia and her friends. The story is easy to follow and has plenty of charming characters - plus some new potential dangers. I loved the way the story weaved history and a love of science through the plot - the science fair was loads of fun as well as the dangerous trip back in time. – YA Books Central. This volume reinforces themes of friendship, ingenuity, and empathy, making it a strong pick for emerging readers who enjoy fantasy with heart and humor.– Puget Sound Council for Reviewing Children's and Young Adult Literature.
