Darwyn Cooke (1962-2016) was a celebrated Canadian comic book artist, writer, and animator known for his bold, retro-inspired style and emotionally resonant storytelling. His acclaimed works include Batman- Ego, DC- The New Frontier, Catwoman, and adaptations of Richard Stark's Parker novels. Before entering comics full-time, Cooke worked in animation, contributing to Batman- The Animated Series and Superman- The Animated Series. His work earned numerous Eisner, Harvey, and Joe Shuster Awards.
