Henry Blackaby Dr. Henry Blackaby, author of Experiencing God, provides consultative leadership on prayer for revival and spiritual awakening in the lives of many Christians around the world. Born in Canada , Blackaby earned his BD and ThM from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. In 1970, Dr. Blackaby began pastoring a dying church in Saskatoon , Canada . Under his leadership the church not only thrived, but spawned thirty-eight new churches and became a center for pastoral training. Blackaby and his wife, Marilynn, have five children and fourteen grandchildren. They live in Atlanta , Georgia . Mel Blackaby Dr. Melvin Blackaby, Henry's son, is coauthor (with his father) of the Gold Medallion-winner Experiencing God Together. He earned his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He travels extensively as a conference speaker, but his first love is the pastorate. Blackaby serves as senior pastor of Bow Valley Baptist Church in Cochrane , Alberta , Canada , where he lives with his wife, Gina, and their three children.
