Shelina Permalloo grew up inspired to cook by her Mauritian family and heritage, and in 2012 she won MasterChef UK launching a career that has seen her write two cookbooks, appear regularly on TV, and run her own restaurant for eight years. As a single mum, she balances her busy life with creativity in the kitchen and shares her quick and delicious everyday recipes online at @shelinacooks.

Her new book is full of accessible, vibrant recipes that are perfect for everyday cooking and have deservedly made her the internet sensation that she is. A great and useful book for any home. -- Sabrina Ghayour In our house, it’s full-blown chaos from the moment the day starts with two wild little boys, endless snacks, and the eternal question: what’s for dinner? This book is an absolute lifesaver. Shelina has created the kind of recipes every wrecked parent dreams of: proper home-cooked meals, full of flavour, fast on the table, and total crowd pleasers. -- Donal Skehan So colourful, with an explosion of different flavours, and easy to follow. This should be a staple on anybody’s bookshelf for inspiration, to get those taste buds working. I love it. -- Rosemary Shrager
