Hazel Edwards (Author) Hazel Edwards, O.A.M., is an award-winning author of books for children and adults. Her beloved picture book series 'There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake' has been hugely popular for almost forty years, inspiring a musical stage production and a short movie. Hippo gets lots of fan mail. Awarded the Australian Society of Authors' Medal in 2009, Hazel has been nominated three times for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. She was also the 2021 Australia Reads Ambassador, and received the Monash University Distinguished Alumni award for Education in 2022. Rosemary Wilson (Illustrator) Rosemary Wilson has collaborated with Hazel Edwards on several highly successful children's books, including Stickybeak. She has a background in advertising, design and photography and now teaches art as well as illustrating children's books. She finds her four children invaluable critics when she is working on her illustrations.
