Paul Carson is a doctor and novelist. He lives in Dublin with his wife and two children, where he runs an asthma and allergy clinic for children as well as writing.
Three patients have died in Dublin's Mercy Hospital from a very rare blood disorder. Haemotologist Dr Frank Clancy decides to find out why. The 18-year-old daughter of an American doctor is then found stabbed to death in a Dublin park. Two seemingly unrelated incidents converge during Dr Clancy's investigations, which take him to America. Carson's second novel is well constructed and finely paced. An enjoyable read. (Kirkus UK)
