"Tre Horton carries over twenty years of experience in the sport of wrestling as a student, athlete, and a coach. He is currently serving as the Wrestling Director for Peachtree Ridge Youth Athletic Association and as an Assistant Coach at Life University. He is also the owner and host of the Wrestling Core Podcast designed to give wrestlers everything they need to be successful in one place. He is imbued with a passion for the sport having extensive coaching experience at the youth, high school, and college levels. He has coached multiple state placers, All-Americans, and National Champions on all levels, and has received multiple awards for his outstanding coaching skills. He has served as the main point of contact for the launching of many clubs and provided valuable insight to existing clubs to foster success. In addition, he built the largest youth wrestling program in Gwinnett County, the largest county in Georgia, in two years. Tre wrestled with impressive results at Peachtree Ridge High School and finished his extensive competitive career at Brewton-Parker College. He holds USA Wrestling Bronze & Copper certifications and has completed the NWCA College Coaching Leadership Academy. Ken has found success at all levels of competition, both as a competitor and a coach. After winning 2 State Championships and Outstanding Wrestler Awards, Ken culminated his prep career by winning Junior Nationals in both freestyle and Greco and the Junior World Championship.While studying and training at PENN STATE, Ken was a 3x NCAA All-American, 2x Junior World Champion, Pan American Champion, and U.S. Olympian.Ken also excelled in the classroom as he became a 3X Academic All-American, graduating from Penn State with a 3.6 GPA.Ken conducted summer day camps throughout college and started the Gold Medal Training System upon graduation from Penn State. During Ken's first five years conducting camps, he also coached at Ohio State and Penn State. While at OHIO STATE, Coach Chertow helped build the Buckeyes into a national powerhouse. OHIO STATE finished 4th and 5th in the NCAA Championships, the program's best finishes in school history.Coach Chertow returned to PENN STATE and joined the Nittany Lion Coaching Staff. Ken's team won the National Dual Meet Championship and was 2nd in the NCAA Championships, PSU's best finish since 1953 at the time.Ken has left college coaching to focus his time and energy on helping young people through his local wrestling school and to devote more time to developing his camp system. Many of Ken's wrestlers have excelled, winning State & National Championships.Coach Chertow's dedication and skills, coupled with his commitment to surrounding his campers with the best possible staff in the nation, has made the Gold Medal Training Camp the most highly organized and successful camp system in the Nation.
