Mike Medavoy started his career in the mailroom at Universal Studios. At age 33 he joined United Artists, then went on to become co-founder of Orion Pictures and, later, chairman of Sony's Tri-Star Pictures. In 1994, he formed Phoenix Pictures, where he is Chairman.
