Reviews for Woodworking: Beginners Guide

Woodworking Basics gives good coverage of fundamental woodworking concepts. It gives descriptions of a range of woodworking skills and then describes some basic skills. It then describes three projects: making a straight and square board, making a small bench, and making a cabinet. I particularly liked how the book was laid out, with attractive and useful pictures. I thought the book is limited as a guide for beginners. It frequently uses a lot of technical terms which would be unfamiliar to a beginner without explanation. These concepts could be illustrated and explained much better. The book could also be far more comprehensive. This book would work really well if you want to follow it through and make the projects, or as a supplement to other woodworking books. However, there are more encyclopedic woodwork books available, notably The Complete Manual of Woodworking by J.J. Sandor., Possibly the most comprehensive book on woodworking in general .This and the Essential Woodworking Handtools by Paul Sellers are probably the book you will need unless you want an in-depth book about a particular aspect of woodworking .This manual is clear and very detailed with lots of great photos and drawings .Great book. Very detailed. A must for the woodworker no matter how long you have been working with wood. Many great ideas, plans and information about woodworking. Very useful for me. I know a bit about woodworking and this book helps me understand how to do things I've yet to accomplish. It looks to be a great reference for novices as well., I bought this book for my daughter, who has done a fair amount of woodwork. I thought, from reviews and descriptions, that it was more than it is. As far as it goes, it's fine, but it really is a good little reference book for beginners, with some projects that I think are attractive and confidence-building. Just know it is not for a seasoned woodworker., This book is going to start at the beginning with the assumption that you have little knowledge of get started with woodworking. It explains everything that you need to know about woodworking, without making you feel as if you're constantly a step behind. It was written in a very simple way for better and easier understanding., This is a really useful book. You can get acquainted with several fields of woodworking, understand about the necessary and important tools for each field and much more. The author gives tricks and advice for beginners. It was interesting to read., This is a great learning book on woodworking. A great informative book. Providing proven tips and steps. Loving approach. Author give full stuff for making this book helpful., I didn't know woodworking have different categories until I read this book. It is a must read for any one has no idea about woodworking., Well put together and informative. Would recommend to any one that is thinking about, or has been in woodworking for awhile., Hand planing boards flat is just out of the question for me. Besides I love my jointer and planner. This book teaches a combination of both. Hand and power tools to achieve what you want. Besides in the end it's what you have built that will impress people and not what tools you have used to do it. Thanks, This manual for woodworking beginners and a book of woodworking projects helps you start your own business in the joinery field. It describes all types of woodworking, professional advice, the necessary tools and materials and all the information that is needed to create a working space at home. I am interested in pyrography, and I am willing to spend the amount on the acquisition of all necessary. This book helped me start my favorite business., The book is designed for beginners and covers the basic principles of getting started in the craft. Recommended,
