Sharon Lawrence is a retired educator, textile artist, painter, writer, speaker, and wildlife rehabilitator. She attended the University of Guelph, Lakeshore Teacher's College, and the Ontario College of Art and Design. She is a specialist in early childhood education, household science, and the arts. She married R. D. Lawrence, a field biologist, journalist, foreign correspondent, WWII veteran, and award-winning and internationally published author, in 1973. In 1984 Sharon and her husband bought a large wilderness property in the Haliburton Highlands of Ontario, where they raised, rehabilitated, and released injured and orphaned wildlife. Sharon and R. D. ran the sanctuary together, and they both continued to research and document the activities at Wolf Hollow. Sharon proofed, edited, illustrated, and provided photos for the books and articles that R. D. Lawrence wrote. Today, she pens her own stories of the unique sanctuary animals.
