Nigel Atter is an independent scholar of the Great War. His primary interests are the 8th Lincolnshire Regiment at the Battle of Loos, 1915 and the 2nd Battalion Leicestershire Regiment 1914-1918. Nigel was a founding member of the Leicestershire and Rutland Branch of the Western Front Association (WFA) and is regular speaker at branch meetings presenting his research. Nigel’s article ‘A Difficult Year: Offensive Operations on the Western Front in 1915’, was published in the WFA’s Journal Stand To! No. 104, September 2015. His first work for Helion and Co, In the Shadow of Bois Hugo The 8th Lincolns at the Battle of Loos, received critical acclaim from distinguished historians such as Professor Robin Prior, Chris Baker and Paul Reed. Dr Spencer Jones is Senior Lecturer in Armed Forces and War Studies at the University of Wolverhampton. He serves as the Regimental Historian of the Royal Regiment of Artillery.
