The first time I read Wings of the Pirate, I had just visited islands off the coast of Australia and it made me long to return to tropical waters. I felt as though I was watching an epic film of exotic adventure and exhilarating exploits, with the characters and locations bursting to life from the pages and myself sitting in the copilot seat!
