From authors and speakers, Steven and Courtney Cohen, this companion Guide for Where Your Beginning Began is designed for parents, teachers, counselors, family, and friends of children who join a family through private adoption. This guide is designed to help give common language, empathy, compassion, and understanding for adopted or adoptive children, while equipping the reader with questions, background information of the illustrations, a scavenger hunt on every page, as well as ways to challenge the readers own precepts, beliefs, and understandings.

When a child joins a family by way of private adoption, they often wrestle with questions of identity. One day, an adopted child will start to wonder where they came from - where their beginning began.

Where Your Beginning Began helps adoptive families discover together a child's initial foundations to answer a critical question of identity. God knew us before time existed and He is the safest, most trustworthy Person to take our questions to.

Join Kaynay, the elephant, as she journeys through the land of Fambly (Jamaican for Family) into her past to better understand her place in this world - and discover for yourself where your beginning began.

What to Expect: This is a fun, colorful land which also has some perilous and challenging places you'll encounter as you travel throughout all our Land of Fambly books.

Our family has personally experienced the beauty and challenges of private adoption, which prompted us to share this book with you and the children you love. In this guide, we'll walk you through the book, page by page, to help you see the many hidden gems that can springboard helpful and healing conversations with your child.

Grab your copy of Where Your Beginning Began and join us for the scavenger hunt, deep questions, and guidance to help you in self-reflection.

"I work as the Creative Director for a gaming company. With 12 years of digital painting experience, I specialise in children's book illustration, concept art, 2D art, game art and sketching. I aspire to touch the lives of young readers around the globe with my art and storybooks. I believe that if children are cared for from an early age, they, like trees, will grow stronger.A decade ago, a friend approached me to help him with a book he was writing for his son, which sparked my interest in creating artwork for children's books. It quickly grew on me, and I became emotionally invested in creating such works of art. Children's books, storybooks, activity books, colouring books, reading aid books, and picture books, I believe, play a vital part in a child's general development in the early years, especially in this age of screens, where all devices compete for their attention. I want to be at the epicentre of this transformation. Integrity, respect for elders, responsible attitude, learning nature, self-love and acceptance, empathy, loyalty, courage to achieve their ambitions, and selfless nature are some of the essential human characteristics I want to instil in children. Coincidentally, my first book, ""Power of Words,"" taught young readers about the impact of their words on others.I want to work on at least 100 children's books in my lifetime. To accomplish this, I've developed a solid SOP that allows me to generate beautiful books based on the writers' vision. I toil hard to bring his vision to reality with the utmost care and attention to detail. A well-drawn and well-written book, in my opinion, is a timeless work of art with the capacity to affect the lives of its readers.Digital painting is a tool of my choice. It allows me to create my art carefree, focus on storytelling and make it engaging. My concept work, game art, and sketches all represent this storytelling. A story is the soul of any piece of art, regardless of its medium.I was born to tell stories. My life has taken the form of a line, shaped by experience, coloured by dreams, and framed by vision. I never go where everyone else goes. I seek new grounds and empty spaces for my work. I never stand still; I always focus on the future and technology, not letting myself get forgotten in a moment of history. My ambition is to use my drawings to create a positive impact on society. I want to make a difference in people's lives, mould their childhoods, sow the seeds of design and art, and open doors to a creative lifestyle. The world we knew decades ago is undergoing rapid change, demanding the need to keep ahead of the competition. The world is evolving, and I am as well. And all I need now is a chance to create! Create children's books. For Courtney Cohen, everything comes down to two questions: Who is God? And, who has He designed us to be? Whether she's writing, speaking, or homeschooling her children, these questions propel her forward. Author of multiple books, including The Sacred Shadow and Refining Identity, Courtney passionately helps others encounter the reality and nearness of God in everyday life. Co-founder of Now Found Ministries, along with her husband, Courtney utilizes videos, blogging, and books to encourage others towards intimate relationships with God and a deeper awareness of His Voice speaking purpose over every life. Courtney is married to Steve, her most radical supporter, who also keeps her real. Living in Texas, Courtney and Steve have three children who, simultaneously, bless her socks off and keep her on her toes. Stay in touch with Courtney at NowFound.org.
