Ben Schofield is a trained historian and has been a cycle racer for 26 years. He has driven race officials in numerous professional and international cycling events, including the Commonwealth Games and World Championships. This is his first book.
I was lucky enough to grow up in a cycling family in the 50s and 60s. I remember Sun Tour riders staying at our house and being enthralled with their yarns. I also vividly remember dad taking me to North Essendon Board track when I was only about five years old to watch Patto and Mockridge and then taking me down to the dressing rooms to meet them. This book gives a great insight into those wonderful years and takes me back to those magical times. John Trevorrow, Race Director, Herald Sun Tour and 3 time Sun Tour winner
